History of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society
The following archives document the beginnings of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society, which officially began its activities as the Intelligent Transportation Systems Council on January 1, 1999, following the earlier vote by the Technical Activities Board (TAB) to transform the TAB Ad Hoc Committee on ITS into a permanent entity. The ITS Council became a Society in 2005 and published its first newsletter as a Society in March of that year (Volume 7, Issue 1, of the Newsletter).
